These are the 32 full-length films and the 30 short films screened at the 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. A total of 29 Greek films will celebrate their premiere at the 66th TIFF, nine of which take part in the Festival’s competition section. The films Beachcomber by Aristotelis Maragkos, Bearcave by Krysianna Papadakis and Stergios Dinopoulos, and Gorgonà by Evi Kalogiropoulou take part in the International Competition section.

The 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF66: 30/10 – 09/11/2025) will bestow an honorary Golden Alexander to the renowned filmmaker Yorgos Tsemberopoulos, one of Greece’s most beloved film directors who has many huge hits under his belt, for his overall contribution to the art of cinema. The 66th TIFF will host a large-scale tribute to his work, featuring his entire full-length filmography. Moreover, the audience will have the chance to attend a fascinating masterclass, where Yorgos Tsemberopoulos will unveil and share the secrets of his art.
The 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival is hosting a deeply political tribute titled Fragilities, focusing on the limitations that demarcate the fragile human nature. The tribute is part of the renewed and extended Survey Expanded section of the Meet the Neighbors+ competition section, which includes films from the wider neighborhood of Greece.
The 66th Thessaloniki International Film Festival explores the countless versions of a unique and unparalleled acting talent, welcoming Isabelle Huppert, one of the radiant, daring and multi-awarded stars of world cinema and theater. The Festival, alongside Isabelle Huppert, has selected a total of 15 films that display her outstanding ability for inner transformation for the sake of every role, while maintaining a solid acting identity. The selection of films, directed by beloved filmmakers, spans over different periods and countries.
This year’s Festival hosts a tribute on the technique of plot twist, adopting a subversive approach on this valuable narrative tool. The tribute titled Plot Twist, Beyond Sixth Sense goes beyond the most popular and manifest plot twists found in cinema, casting a glance on rare and lesser known films, shot over the last fifty years, from 1976 to 2025.
The posters of the 66th International Film Festival bear the signature of the acclaimed Greek visual artist Stefanos Rokos, who created two original works for the Festival’s poster. These works also inspired the 66th TIFF’s spots, two short animation films, directed by Stefanos Rokos and film director and animator Fokion Xenos, and scored by Jim Sclavunos, frequent collaborator of legendary music artists such as Nick Cave, Grinderman, Sonic Youth, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks (with Lydia Lunch) and The Cramps among others, as well as a permanent member of the Bad Seeds since 1994.
